Mission Statement

"The mission of Menagerie Multicultural Ensemble is to create a universal language through music by integrating diversity with unity, tradition with innovation."

Where does Menagerie Perform?

Founded in Denton, TX. Venues can be at as large as a concert hall or as small as a gallery or jazz bar (instrumentation is flexible). From formal to casual.

Who do we serve?

General public, multicultural groups, international organization and educational institutions

Why do we need this ensemble?

To break the boundaries of different languages, cultures and political issues. This is the power of the music.
• To serve international communities as a reminder of home.

What distinguishes Menagerie Multicultural Ensemble from other musical groups?

• Musicians from six different countries, and three different fields: classical, jazz and ethnomusicology.

• Our performances feature crossover music genres with new arrangements, classical literature and original compositions based on
traditional Chinese music, Brazilian choros, Bossa Nova,
jazz and contemporary compositions.

• Audience engagement: performers from each country introduce the music from his/her cultural home.

After the Dallas Public Library Sunday Concert Series. With Chinese Community.

Our Future Goals

• Building and expanding relationships with members of the North Texas community through outreach programs.
• Recording project.

• Performing globally in each musician’s home country.

" We want to share our music, and also tell people the wonderful opportunities we’ve
had at the University of North Texas. More importantly, we want to show the world
that music and peace, not hatred and war, are the solutions."
